702.19c If an attacking creature with trample is blocked, but there are no creatures blocking it when damage is assigned, all its damage is assigned to the player or planeswalker it’s attacking.
When does an ability trigger when a creature is blocked?
509.5c An ability that reads “Whenever [a creature] becomes blocked, . . .” generally triggers only once each combat for that creature, even if it’s blocked by multiple creatures. It will trigger if that creature becomes blocked by at least one creature declared as a blocker.
When does a creature become a blocker in RuneScape?
509.1g Each chosen creature still controlled by the defending player becomes a blocking creature. Each one is blocking the attacking creatures chosen for it. It remains a blocking creature until it’s removed from combat or the combat phase ends, whichever comes first.
Can a creature block if there is a cost?
If a creature can’t block unless a player pays a cost, that player is not required to pay that cost, even if blocking with that creature would increase the number of requirements being obeyed.
What happens when you sacrifice a creature in RuneScape?
Players assign combat damage. Combat damage is dealt. Players may cast instants and activate abilities. Combat damage no longer uses the stack, so by the time you are able to cast instants and activate abilities in the Combat Damage Step, combat damage has already been dealt and any creatures dealt lethal damage have died.
Can a Mogg fanatic be sacrificed after blocking?
If you block in order to deal 1 damage to my attacker, your Mogg Fanatic will die to the 2 damage before you have an opportunity to activate any abilities. You could sacrifice the Mogg Fanatic after blocking, but then the Mogg Fanatic won’t deal combat damage (though the attacker will still be blocked).
What happens when you declare a blocker in RuneScape?
Nowadays, you declare blockers, and then both players have a chance to play spells and abilities. Once everyone is finished doing this, we move onto the combat damage phase, and only then do creatures even start thinking about dealing damage to each other.
