This game is inspired by Phase 10, a commercial version of Contract Rummy, but is played with normal playing cards. To begin, deal each player 10 cards and flip one card face up. The object of the game is to complete each “phase”….10 Phases.

Do Phase 10 runs have to be the same color?

Runs consist of four or more cards in numerical order. The cards do not have to be the same colors. Wild cards can be used to complete runs. Sets consist of two or more cards of the same number.

How many players are there in Phase 10?

Phase 10 is Fundex card game designed for two to six players. Players compete to complete 10 sequential phases, with the first player completing “Phase 10” being the winner. The card game was also adapted into a dice game. Choose a dealer, and have them shuffle the deck.

What happens at the end of Phase 10?

Being the first player to go out in a round means you get to advance to the next phase and hand. Also, players who had cards remaining in their hand must add them up. Gaining points is not ideal, the player in Phase 10 with the lowest score wins. If at the end of a round there is only one player to complete phase 10, they are the winner.

Players hold their 10 cards in hand so that the other players cannot see them. The remaining deck is placed face-down in the center of the play area to become the draw pile.

Who is the creator of the Phase 10 card game?

The first player to complete all 10 Phases wins the game. It was originally created in 1982 by a man named Kenneth R Johnson, and marketed by a company called Fundex, who sold their rights to Mattel in 2010. Phase 10 is a bit like Uno, in that you are always trying to get rid of all the cards in your hand and be the first to do it for all hands.
